After a hiatus of almost three years, Illusione has added a new addition to their core line of excellent cigars…and this new addition is a stellar new concoction from the masterful mind of Dion Giolito. The Fume d’Amour (to wit, “the smoke of love”) is a variation on his “original document” corojo blend, using only viso andseco leaves; culled from the lower levels of the plant, these tend to be less powerful than ligero, though no less tasty. The result is an extremely flavorful, medium-bodied smoke with intertwined elements of hickory, savory spice, some nuttiness and a subtle floral/citrus note.We’ve got all four of the currently available vitolas on hand: Lagunas (4 1/2″ x 42), Viejos (5″ x 50), Capistranos (6″ x 56), and (sure to be a hit in the Burgh)Clementes (6 1/2″ x 48). Legendary blender A. J. Fernandez – collaborating with his father Ismael for the first time since the latter’s retirement from Plasencia – has come up with a magnificent new line of cigars named in honor of the discovery of smoking by European explorers in 1492.A box-pressed Nicaraguan puro consisting of a Nicaragua Oscuro wrapper,Jalapa binder, and a colorful array of fillers (Viso Ometepe and ligeros from Esteli, Finca, and Condega), the New World is a robust smoke which starts out with a blast of peppery spice and gradually eases into an extremely pleasant blend of dark chocolate/cocoa, black pepper, and a woody, maduro-like sweetness reminiscent of cherry or plum.

The masterminds at Alec Bradley have come up with an interesting new configuration, an extension of their popular Nica Puro line: The Nica Puro Diamond Rough Cut, a box-pressed Nicaraguan puro (hence the name) in an unusual diamond-shaped form unlike anything you’ve ever smoked before. Differing slightly from the original Nica Puro blend (Nicaraguan fillers and binders bound in a Nicaraguan Habano wrapper; the Diamond contains an extra filler leaf), the flavor is consistent with the rest of the line: a creamy, coffee-like base with overtones of sweet wood and citrus.We’ve got a limited supply of these unusual beauties on hand, so try one while you can!
