A 2013 release (which is actually a variation on a 1988 blend from the mysterious “blend book” locked in the Toraño family vault, hence the name), the D-042 blend is an interesting combination of habanos and fillers from Nicaragua and Pennsylvania which produces a voluminous smoke with a peppery start, earthy undertones, and a hearty vanilla/cedar flavor overall. A rich, satisfying cigar suitable for kicking back at the end of a long day. Smoke slowly, though – its potency has a tendency to creep up on you towards the finish!
