This week’s C.O.W. is a real treat: Willy Herrera‘s Norteño, an outstanding maduro which was released last year to much fanfare, has been fashioned into a new size: The Edicion Limitada Churchill puts a whole new twist on the fantastic blend that is Norteño. Willy Herrera is no slouch when it comes to blending, having worked for eight years at El Titan de Bronze, the highly-regarded Miami factory responsible for some of the finest Cuban-style cigars on the market. Norteño is Herrera’s long-awaited maduro, in development since before even his primary line (Herrera Esteli) was released to the public, and it’s a knockout: fillers from Jalapa and Esteli, a rich Honduran binder, and a wrapper of spicy Mexican San Andrés give it a hearty flavor with an earthy, peppery base and a tinge of berry-like sweetness that emerges around the halfway point. A very fine cigar, especially at this week’s insanely low price! Put a few of these away…they will only get better with time.
